Fort Legionów (formerly Włodzimierz) is a 19th-century fort in Warsaw, built in 1851–1853 as part of the Citadel fortifications. In the Second Polish Republic, it housed a military intelligence archive, whose takeover by the Germans in 1939 led to the dismantling of the Polish intelligence network. The fort was modernized after 1865, and in 1921 it was given its current name. After the war, it was used by the military, and from the 1980s there were plans to adapt it for cultural purposes. In 2000, it was sold to a private company – it is currently home to the Forteca restaurant, and events and guided tours are held there. Since 1965, the fort has been entered in the register of historical monuments.
