The Lai rock in Waldems-Reichenbach is part of a quartz dike that stretches through the Usinger Land: from Glashütten-Oberems ("Hohestein") through the Waldems districts of Wüstems, Reichenbach ("Schulberg" and "Lai-Felsen") and Steinfischbach ("Häuserstein-Gluckstein") to the Dombachtal ("Heppenborn") and also in the direction of Usingen ("Eschbacher Klippen").
According to a tradition, the Lai rock is called "Eleven o'clock rock". The rock is said to have turned eleven times around its own axis when the church bells rang at eleven o'clock in the morning when the field workers were called to lunch. (Taunus info)
