In 1433, Grebin was first mentioned in the Lübeck tithe register. From 1910 to 1930, Grebin (Treufeld) was a station on the Kirchbarkau–Preetz–Lütjenburg narrow-gauge railway.

The renaming of Greben to Grebin in 1946
      Edit
On January 16, 1946, the Grebin community representatives[4] asked the district administrator to reverse the renaming that had taken place against the will of the community. This was done by decree of the state government on August 1, 1946.

On May 1, 1933, a Hitler oak was planted, a time capsule containing a document written by Hans Friedrich Blunck was placed in the roots and a memorial stone was set.[3] This ensemble was surrounded by iron chains. The memorial was located in the Schaar district, which is now covered by the village street.

Immediately after the end of the Second World War, the tree was "cut down" at the instigation of Otto Zerrath (municipal council member and local SPD chairman). The memorial stone was buried at its original location.

During construction work in connection with the redesign of the village street in 1960, the stone was dug up again and brought to private property in Schönweide. There it served again as a memorial stone/gathering point for celebrations for "Führer's birthday". After the property was sold, its whereabouts are unknown.
