In 1995, the Stralsund Water and Shipping Authority installed a reliable and bright discharge lamp. Since then,
one of the two lighthouse optics has been sufficient for the economic operation of the lighthouse. The second optic was restored by the Department of Traffic Technology in Koblenz and presented to the public next to the lighthouse in spring 2006. A panel next to it explains the optics.
