The palace in Notyst Wielki – not much is known about it – probably one of the few, almost completely forgotten palaces in Masuria.

The palace was built at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1907, Notyst Wielki and Notyst Dolny constituted one estate with an area of 492.17 ha, owned by M. Enoch and A. Brunn. The estate included: a distillery, a water mill and a windmill, horse and cattle breeding. It was not ruined during the last world war, but later the Red Army first destroyed the walls and roof, then the palace was plundered by soldiers and the population. After the war, it became the seat of the State Agricultural Farm.

The attic rooms were used as communal apartments for employees. The basements were used as a place to drain sewage from the above-ground part. At the end of the 20th century, the ruined palace was bought by a private investor. Modernization works even began, but were interrupted. The building is currently in the condition shown in the photos. The only things left of the old building are the basements and the old park stretching out behind, the rest was demolished due to its very poor technical condition.
