If you are interested in city history and historical buildings, you will like this building very much

The building was built in 1876/77 as the Kronprinz-Friedrich-Wilhelm-Progymnasium and became a full-time grammar school in 1908. After the grammar school moved, the building became a state study institute (later a girls' secondary school), but in 1937 the students had to leave the building because the fortress engineer staff moved in to build the West Wall fortifications. In 1940 the students were allowed to return. In 1944 the school was closed due to the war, but reopened on October 1, 1945. After the students moved to the new Cusanus-Gymnasium in 1966, the school building was used as a "school for the learning disabled", after which it became the seat of the Helene-Demuth-Technikum. The stately sandstone building with two floors is dominated on the street side by a wide central projection with a stepped gable. The four window axes on the first and second floors are decorated with roofs and have sill cornices that extend into the rest of the building on the first floor. A tower with a steep tent roof is placed in each of the short sides of the building.
