On the way back, a detour from hiking trail no. 7 to the Marienstein is recommended, a granite rock formation with a statue of the Virgin Mary - a wonderful view of Grein and the Danube valley all the way to the Alps! The Aumühle country inn is recommended for lunch, and the Gießenbachmühle snack bar is recommended for a stopover and to "recharge your batteries" before or after the hike through the gorge.
