The Bible Land Oberlichtenau was originally opened as the Bible Garden Oberlichtenau. However, the name Bible Garden has long since ceased to be adequate and has often been misunderstood. There are of course biblical plants to be seen in the garden, but this is only part of what is on offer.
The replicas of everyday biblical life are an important part. These include a rock tomb replica, a quarry crane and a threshing floor.
A Byzantine mini-basilica was built on a base area of 2 x 2 meters and invites you to pray and reflect. Early Christianity is explained in and around this small church based on the very distinctive architectural style.
