Very impressive. Unfortunately it's getting old, but still worth seeing!

This is an impressive building that has been gnawed by the ravages of time and the past. Not far from the castle is a rowing club, near the ferry, where you can stay overnight.

A castle in Coswig was first mentioned in 1187, a palace in 1342. After a fire, the castle was rebuilt in 1555-60 and expanded in the 17th century. The building took on its current form in the 18th century under Friederike Auguste Sophie von Anhalt-Zerbst. With her death in 1827, the castle's use as a residence ended. In the 19th and 20th centuries, Coswig Castle served as a military hospital, prison, detention center and archive. Since 2014, the building has been used for concerts.More information: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schloss_Coswig
