    The Schöber Line
A Czech defensive wall against the Germans in World War II
The Schöber Line is a fortification belt with a total of 9,100 completed bunkers, from Bohemian Switzerland to the Lusatian Mountains. It was built at great expense by the Czech military in the 1930s, or more precisely, the Schöber Line was built by the Czech military in 1937. The bunkers on the Schöber Line are almost all of the type/model LB 37. (7-man crew, 2 machine guns) Ohrenstand LB 37 A. A total of around 16,000 bunkers were planned! The Czechoslovak Wall was an extensive border fortification system in Czechoslovakia along the country's borders with the German Reich, Austria, Poland and Hungary, with further lines running inland. It was considered one of the best fortification systems of the 20th century. Of the light installations, about 9,500 were fully constructed and equipped, and of the 1,300 heavy fortifications, 229. As a result of the political results of the Munich Agreement in September 1938, all of the bunkers passed into the possession of the German Wehrmacht without resistance.
