The pilgrimage church of the Assumption of Mary on the 432 meter high Bogenberg near the city of Bogen in Lower Bavaria is an important Catholic pilgrimage site in the diocese of Regensburg. It is considered the oldest pilgrimage church in Bavaria. For this reason, the Bogenberg ascending 118 meters above the Danube is also known as the sacred mountain of Lower Bavaria. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallfahrtskirche_Bogenberg

A detour to the Bogenberg is definitely worth it. The Bogenberg is also known as the "Holy Lower Bavaria". There is a pilgrimage church dedicated to St. Mary. A visit is recommended. The so-called "Candle Pilgrimage" takes place annually on Whit Monday. More about this can be googled if necessary. When the weather is nice, the Bogenberg offers a wonderful view of the "Gäuboden"> Bavarian fruit chamber and the Danube.
