The town of Třebenice is located on the southeastern edge of the České středohoří Protected Area, on the road from Lovosice to Most. The railway line also follows this route. It lies at an altitude of 228 m in the shallow valley of the Modly stream and is surrounded by remarkable hills, remnants of ancient volcanic activity.
Thanks to its location, microclimate and quality soil, agriculture and later viticulture and fruit growing flourished here. The local gooseberry, garlic, various types of fruit, especially apricots, were particularly famous.
The town of Třebenice also includes 8 surrounding villages (local parts). They are Kocourov, Kololeč, Lhota, Lipá, Medvědice, Mrsklesy, Sutom and Teplá. The total area of the managed territory is 22 km2.
