What a natural spectacle and the story behind it

At the source of lime-rich groundwater springs are often found Quellkalkbildungen. In rare cases, a special form, the "stone gutter", develops. The "Growing Rock" of Usterling is with nearly 40 m length and 5 m height the largest stone gutter in Germany.

The growing rock is an absolute must when you are on the Isar between Mamming and Landau. An impressive natural wonder!
