The first mention of a church was in the 13th century. The present Gothic building was built in the 16th century from field stones.

One of the figures is the remains of a crucifix. It is dated to around 1400. The second depicts a Madonna and child and probably dates from around 1300. This 82 centimeter tall figure, whose origin is unknown, was only found badly damaged in the organ's wind tunnel a few years ago. Its existence was previously completely unknown and has since been restored.[
