The chapel was built in 1826 and is located on an exposed and ancient settlement near Iffelsdorf. The simple interior design belongs to different time periods. The chapel is privately owned and dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

the chapel between Iffelsdorf and Untersteinbach is located next to the site where archaeological excavations take place every year. An interesting but steep ascent variant (path 3) on the Eixelberg also leads past the chapel.
