The cathedral square in Erfurt is a large marketplace with about 3.5 hectares, with intact or restored edge buildings. Once it was the main market square and court square. On the square are the Minervabrunnen (1784) and built in 1777 in honor of the Elector of Mainz Erthal Obelisk (Wikipedia).
