From here you can follow the South Fork Trail north to the Velocity Basin parking lot or south to Eureka Gulch and the Animas River. You can also take the Boulder Gulch trail west toward Tower Mountain and Silverton. The Velocity Basin hike and Tower Mountain pass are steep, and the latter is exposed to lightning. Be sure to watch the weather, and you will be rewarded with stunning alpine views!
