The current St. Michael's Church is a modern hall church, the foundation stone of which was blessed on October 12, 1968. The Brussels architects Desmedt and Lateir designed a spacious prayer area with 750 seats. The interior is sober. Glass areas provide soft light. This St. Michael's Church was put into use in March 1970. The dragon slayer Saint Michael is omnipresent here: against the outer facade we see him in an aluminum sculpture by artisan-sculptor Willy Ceysens. The baptismal font, the reading room with the image of Saint Michael and the god's lamp are by artist Willy Cleyssens. We also see Michiel in an image behind glass.

At the front is the beautiful organ that was made around 1777 by the renowned organ builder Pieter Van

Peteghem. The organ in Keerbergen has a graceful, typical rococo case made of oak. The organ was originally built as a balustrade organ; the cupboard was built into the balustrade of the rood loft. The fact that we can still admire this organ is the result of alert people from the local historical community. They managed to save the work of art from destruction during the demolition works of the old church in 1970-1972. Before we leave the church, we look at the Way of the Cross by Gust Dierickx. In fifteen painted panels we see the fourteen stations of the Way of the Cross and the resurrection of Christ.
