The tower of the church dates from 1615 and is designed in Kempen Gothic. It is a heavy, square brick tower, built on a base of iron sandstone. The tower has right-angled buttresses. On the south side there is a pentagonal stair tower. The tower is virtually undecorated, except for a few bands of iron sandstone. The tower is topped by a needle spire.
The wall around the cemetery dates from 1750.
The actual church was demolished in 1840 and replaced by a new building, which was destroyed by fire in 1940. The church treasures were also destroyed. Only a 17th-century wooden statue of Saint Lambert was spared. The church was rebuilt between 1953 and 1956 under the leadership of architect Van Kerckhoven, in modern-Gothic style. Excavations revealed the foundations of a Romanesque church, which was the predecessor of the Gothic church.
