Hang on to a motorboat and try a round of water skiing. It's really easy, and best done in the morning when the lake is as smooth as glass. Water skiing has a long tradition: an American woman did her first laps on Lake Wörthersee in 1935.

If water skiing seems too difficult for you, you should just hang out. Connected to the boat by a parachute with a rope almost 100m long, you glide over the lake at dizzying heights. New perspectives included. For the kids, we recommend a round on a tire or banana: it's really fun!

Insider tip: rent a pedal boat, buy a bottle of champagne or prosecco, take 2 glasses and your loved one with you. Get out onto the lake, jump into the water and then toast the sunset. Et voilá - it doesn't get any better than that!
