The parish church, dedicated to San Nicola di Bari, is located in the center of the town, near the Town Hall, between Piazza Indipendenza and the churchyard. It was probably built in the 17th century, on the ruins of the chapel of the ancient village cemetery, then located in a nearby open space below (where Piazza Bingiggedda opens today). Before being dedicated to San Nicola, the church was dedicated to San Pietro, as Abbot Angius reveals to us who, during the inspection carried out in 1833, was struck by the poverty of the ornaments: "The parish church is under the invocation of S Peter the Apostle - writes Angius - there is nothing that is worthy of being remarked upon in the material of this church, and in the ornaments; on the contrary, it is completely devoid of these, and is in short supply of the most commonly used sacred furnishings. The cemetery is contiguous to it, but in such a way that it remains outside the inhabited area".
