The Rieplerschmiede in Lienz dates back to the 16th century and is a listed building. Families have the opportunity to tour the blacksmith shop and attend a blacksmith demonstration. Fire, smoke, glowing iron and stories from the world of the Middle Ages captivate children and parents.The Rieplerschmiede is the only surviving hoof and nail forge in Lienz. During the blacksmith demonstrations, the blacksmith Robert Steiner tells the families fascinating stories from times long past.Children and parents can even hammer their lucky charm into the door post of the old blacksmith shop, into the Riepler nail stick, with a good thought. According to old legend, the wish will come true.The Rieplerschmiede is located at the end of Schweizergasse, opposite the Klösterle.
