Hiked with 2 kids, 11 and 6. Between shade and sun all day.

After a slightly steep climb, the path becomes very easy on the ledge portion. There are narrow passages but always secured by a lifeline. The passages in the forest are fresh and pleasant. The view is splendid.

From the hydroelectric station you can swim, make dams, or for the picnic it's great.

The return from crossing the Carança is via another climb and a more mountainous descent with old stone stairs that are sometimes quite damaged, and more complicated passages. Until the small wooden bridge below before returning, you can also swim here.

Personally, in the proposed direction it's the best because after the small climb it's flat, and you can enjoy the ride without getting tired. The return is from La Carança and the small steep ascent is short.

Going up the other way requires a lot more effort because the climb is steep and long. The return will be easier but the fatigue will be there.
