You can easily run up to this hut from the lower hut parking on Highway 91, or you can drop down from the mountain road connecting Mount Zion and Buckeye Peak.

The Sangree M. Froelicher Hut is a 10th Mountain Division backcountry ski hut. Located at an elevation of 11,650 feet (just below treeline), this mountain resort of sorts serves as both a recreational and educational asset for the San Isabel National Forest ranger district.
