After the windstorm in October 1897, 80 thousand full meters of wood were broken. On the steep slopes, there was no way to transport the wood to the valley for further processing. Therefore, an ingenious system of free-falling narrow-gauge railways and cable cars was built here.

The operation of the facility was terminated after the removal of the German population in 1945. The remains of the cable car's lower station can be found on Knížecí cesta near a wooden log cabin.
