Parish Church of St. John the Baptist in Nowa Wieś Królewskie probably began to be built at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries, and the completion of the main body of the building took place in the second half of the 14th century, when a nave was added to the presbytery and sacristy. The upper part of the church tower was erected in the second half of the 16th century.

During the Polish-Teutonic war in the early 15th century, the village was ravaged, because according to the damage book from 1414, its losses were estimated at 1,000 marks. Presumably, the church was also damaged at that time. The temple was devastated again during the Swedish wars in the 17th century and then thoroughly renovated. In the nineteenth century, the building was enlarged by a chapel, and in 1908 a thorough renovation was carried out.
