The final stretch to the basalt cone of the Roßbacher Häubchen is quite steep. Along the way, you'll see large boulders of basalt lying in the forest, either eroded by weathering or left over from the days of basalt mining. The final few meters of ascent feel somewhat alpine. A taut wire rope supports you as you climb the basalt rocks.
