The Langá river is approximately 36 kilometers long and flows through a beautiful valley surrounded by rolling hills and mountains. It originates from Langavatn, a scenic lake located in the highlands, and runs through Borgarfjörður until it meets the sea.

Langá is known for its large and powerful Atlantic salmon, which can weigh up to 20 pounds. Anglers can choose to fish from the river's banks or from boats, which offer a unique and exciting way to explore the river and its surroundings.

The river is divided into four beats, each with its own unique character and fishing opportunities. Beat one is located near the river's source and offers excellent fishing for early season salmon. Beat two is a mix of fast and slow-flowing water and is known for its large salmon. Beat three is the most popular and productive section of the river, with many deep pools and runs that attract large numbers of salmon. Beat four is located closer to the river's mouth and offers excellent sea trout fishing.

Aside from fishing, Langá offers many opportunities for outdoor activities, such as hiking, birdwatching, and wildlife spotting. The river is home to a variety of bird species, including the majestic White-tailed Eagle, and other wildlife such as Arctic foxes and reindeer can also be spotted in the surrounding hills and valleys.

In summary, Langá is a spectacular river located in Borgarfjörður, West Iceland, that offers excellent salmon fishing opportunities, stunning natural beauty, and a wide range of outdoor activities. Whether you're an experienced angler or just looking to explore Iceland's rugged wilderness, Langá is a destination that should not be missed.
