The lighthouse on the western cape of Goeree-Overflakkee replaced in 1948 a lighthouse from 1912 that was blown up on the last day of the Second World War (May 4, 1945, after Erfgoedhuis Zuid-Holland).
The brick tower has a square plan and is 56 meters high including the beacon. Right from the start, it has an electric light source that provides orientation for shipping traffic between the Meuse and Scheldt estuaries.

The brick tower has a square floor plan and, including the lighthouse, is 56 meters high.
Unfortunately, the lighthouse is not open to the public, so it can only be admired from a distance.

Imposing lighthouse. Over 50 meters high and shines 55 KM out to sea. Since it's still in operation, you can't really get to it.
