From Pieve Santo Stefano you can normally reach San Macario in Piano on asphalt, but for those who love mountain biking there is an all-unpaved alternative (Via delle Nubache Off), which starts from Via della Pieve Santo Stefano and reaches Via delle Nubache on asphalt, which in turn leads to Carignano. At first it looks like a very wide forest road (watch out for speed), and then it turns into a beautiful single track (pay attention to some stones and gullies formed by the rain). In the final part, the path has a bit of a climb, to then flow into a short stretch of asphalt followed immediately by a gravel road all downhill to Via delle Nubache. Always be careful going downhill even where it seems simple, never lose concentration and always keep your speed under control. You need a mountain bike to walk this path.
