In the Borgo there were also civil public buildings (a house on the internal road is still referred to as the Magistrates Court) and the fundamental infrastructure of the port. The division into several nuclei of some towns on the lake in fact responded to a functional need whereby a center located in an easily defensible position (in this case Castello) was flanked by a center (in this case Borgo) more easily accessible from the lake, the main communication route of the territory until the advent of mass motorisation.

Located on the shore of the lake, it is the fundamental center of Nesso, seat of the plebeian church of SS. Peter and Paul. Limited in the manufacturing development by the absence of easily exploitable watercourses for this purpose (in 1578, however, it possessed a press, two mills and a room with looms for woolen cloths), it had an important residential function (again in 1578 there were no less than twenty houses, plus ten other farmhouses) and the main families of the town lived there.
