Tips
According to legend, after an apparition of the Virgin Mary in 1255, the priest Dietrich von Rickenbach in Todtmoos built the first chapel on the Schöngühl after he is said to have conquered the poisonous fumes. The Toten Moos became Todtmoos, and the wooden chapel became a stone chapel as early as 1268. The current church was built between 1625 and 1632.
