About the existence of the Church of St. We already have documents of John the Baptist in these places from the 16th century. What you find today are the remains of a much younger building. The baroque renovation of the pilgrimage church took place in the first half of the 18th century. What is interesting is that, in addition to the church, there were several other buildings and fortifications that protected the settlement. The reconstruction was financed by the Plán landowner Václav from Sinzendorf and consecrated in 1732 by the Kladruber abbot Josef Sieber.

Although the ruins of the Church of St. John the Baptist, protected as a monument since 1992, were again significantly damaged in 2000 thanks to filmmakers. During the unauthorized adaptation to the “Hell's Rain” for the fairy tale “Z pekla štice 2”, the plaster was destroyed and the remains of the baroque paintings were painted over. A large part of the vault then collapsed.
