    The 37.5 m high Gänsturm in Ulm (also called Gänstor) is a preserved city gate in the east of the medieval city fortification not far from the Danube. Its name comes from the fact that geese used to drive geese onto the goose meadows.

    The substructure with pointed arched gate, built from stone from the old city wall of Staufen, dates from 1360, the upper floors made of brick and the helmet are dated 1495. There are niches with donkey backs over the gates,
