Tips
Status as of summer 2024: The Atterkarjoch has been newly secured, the entrance to the new path is now about 50-100m further to the left coming from the Amberger Hut. Don't make the mistake of taking the old path, it's absolutely life-threatening! The steps there are partially bent and the rope anchors have come loose from the rock. Coming from Sölden you can see the new path very well, there is no danger of taking the wrong path.

To get there, the hiker has to traverse a steep section of moray eels and a short via ferrata. Only for sure-footed, experienced hikers!
