Opened in 2018, the Ange Abrate media library is located on the outskirts of the historic center of Sallanches, at the foot of the hill, in the oldest part of the city which includes the collegiate church of St Jacques and the Château des Rubins.

The city of Sallanches wanted to create an exemplary public facility, particularly from the point of view of taking into account the requirements of the principles of sustainable development and preservation of the environment.

With its green roof, the 2000 m2 building, with its sober and “mineral” contemporary architecture, rubs shoulders with the oldest historical traces of the city. It follows the natural slope of the hillside by being staged on 2 levels on one level and fits perfectly into its environment.
