The power plant Eglisau, above Herdern delivered electricity in April 1920 for the first time. The power station is a listed building and is being restored to its original condition. Some of the facilities are on German territory, the power plant building on the Swiss side. It is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment and new machinery groups.
