The Königstuhl is a 567.8 meter high mountain and only a stone's throw away from the old town of Heidelberg (7 km). Here you will find an oasis of peace and relaxation and has a fantastic view of Heidelberg and the Neckar valley. In the warm season it is between 5 and 6 degrees cooler than in the city.
From the castle lead a steep staircase (also called Himmelsleiter) and since 1907 also the mountain railways up to the Königstuhl. Even the journey to the Heidelberg mountain is an experience: With the Heidelberg cable cars it goes from the bottom station Kornmarkt on the stations Castle and Molkenkur to the Königstuhl. Alternatively, the bus line 39 leaves every hour from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm from Bismarckplatz to the Königstuhl.

For those who prefer to hike, the Königstuhl offers many attractive destinations and trails for every fitness level. The routes are all marked and end near HSB stops.
