not only the Postplatz of Görlitz, but the whole old town is simply beautiful, it is also the easternmost major German city.
The very nice train station has an elevator that can easily accommodate a packed bicycle, not even the Düsseldorf main station has that.
Unfortunately, the images cannot be arranged in a reasonable order here.

The striking Görlitz department store, also known as Zum Strauss and Warenhaus Görlitz, is a listed building in Görlitz, built in the historicist style and decorated with Art Nouveau elements.

Built as the Art Nouveau department store "Zum Strauss" by the Jewish merchant Louis Friedländer, modeled on the Berlin Wertheim department store, the Görlitz department store is the only one of its era that still exists today in its original structural form. The building is particularly impressive due to its colossal interior design.

The construction plans for the "Kaufhaus zum Strauß" were provided by the Potsdam architect Carl Schmanns. Construction began in 1912, resulting in a steel-framed structure with a sandstone facade, just like the "Wertheim." After only nine months of construction, the Görlitz department store opened on September 30, 1913[1], on the east side of Demianiplatz next to the Frauenkirche.
It has been closed since 2013 and has been subject to vandalism.
