you can become pumpkin mayor at the Predinger pumpkin festival. Right in the middle of Schilcherland in south-western Styria, not only does the traditional pumpkin festival take place, but also the election of the leader over all the many pumpkins. The candidates for this office sit at a round table with a bowl of Woazkoch (semolina porridge) in the middle, into which a pumpkin is thrown. Whoever got the most mush from the impact can now call themselves pumpkin mayor. This rather non-democratic election is the highlight of the two-day pumpkin festival with a musical program, show cleaning, a handicraft market and various competitions. Of course, the physical well-being is also taken care of and plenty of pumpkin is served - in all possible variations.
