Originally Gothic, the Andreas chapel owes its current appearance to the extensive baroque remodeling of the castle church between 1721 and 1726 by the then Swedish governor general for Rügen and Western Pomerania, Count Johann August Meyerfeldt.

In addition to the large ceiling and panel paintings, the pulpit, a baptismal angel, the confessional, the patron's box and the baroque prospectus of the organ (everything from around 1725) complete the closed baroque impression. The artistically high-quality Renaissance altar from 1598 is particularly noteworthy. With its marble reliefs from the Italian school, it is the most important piece of church equipment.

Nehringen is one of the last surviving ensembles of Swedish baroque in Western Pomerania with the manor house and two cavalier houses in the Swedish country house style (1780) (country seat of the Swedish governor general for Rügen and Western Pomerania), baroque residential buildings in Dorfstraße (approx. 1730-1810), the drawbridge over the Trebel (1911) and the medieval keep (Fangelturm, early 14th century)
There is a Mehmel organ in the church.
