This rock theater was created in the late 1940s in an old quarry above Alise-Sainte-Reine, mostly by German prisoners of war. It was inaugurated on June 7, 1946, in front of an audience of 3,000, with a performance of Racine's "Britannicus."
An extraordinary, magical place where concerts, shows, and plays are performed every summer in front of up to 2,000 spectators.
The theater is open to the public and a fascinating place to visit.
