Lake Ritom

With the legendary cable car, the most important mountain lake in Ticino, with a size of 1.49 km2, can be easily reached. In 1917 the first dam was built, with which the lake was from then on used to generate hydroelectric energy. This is still of great importance for the entire Leventina valley.
Lake Ritom stands out as the perfect place where you can find rest, relaxation and peace. A unique panorama is reflected on the surface of Lake Ritom, which makes you forget everyday life. Passionate hikers also get their money's worth. The area around the lake is the starting point for numerous excursions and unforgettable walks.
The nature trail, newly created in 2009 on the right side of the lake, invites visitors young and old to explore the indescribable natural beauty around the lake.
