The Sternenwirtshaus Hohritt was built here around 1935. It was a three-storey, straw-roofed half-timbered building with an S-shaped floor plan, set on a basement made of solid granite stone. Stylistically, it was supposed to be modeled on a Black Forest farmhouse. As a result, it was a magnificent and prestigious building of the time, and was considered the largest half-timbered building in Germany. The hotel building had space for around 80 guests. The main building was destroyed by fire in 1942. A new building was built on top of the remaining granite floor, but it was only one storey and very makeshift. The arched outbuildings, which are often referred to as a "castle", have survived to this day. The Sternen Wirtshaus was a popular destination in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1965, a church family holiday home was set up here. During this time, the new hotel buildings were built on the floor plan of the old inn. The chapel was built in 1967. In 2007, the family holiday center went bankrupt and the buildings have been empty ever since.
