Under the leadership of the Association for Local History, the financial framework could be created to realize this monument in the heart of the National Park Hunsrück-Hochwald. Gerd Edinger, a renowned artist born in Sensweiler, created the monument in almost a year of construction. He is a follower of Land Art and inspired by Joseph Beuys, he sees his work as a "great social sculpture". In the geographic center of the National Park, Edinger designed 70 tons of quartzite, which in his words is a subtle attack on the senses of the visitor. Central element is a four-tonne boulder, surrounded by other stones, which remind of their arrangement of the typical occurring Rosselhalden the region. In addition, the stones are aligned to the cardinal points and the time factor is found again and again in the monument. Other elements are the water, which is integrated in the form of a pan serving as a bird bath. There are also three beech trees, the natural tree species for this location. For economic reasons, the beech tree was once replaced by spruce in what is now the National Park area. The monument should appeal to all the senses, the stones are perceived, even touched, in interaction with water and light. The visitor is invited to linger and discover, because the monument fits naturally into the landscape.
