Great vantage point overlooking the Scheidskopf and the Neuenahrer mountain, in good weather even the almost 50 kilometers away Cologne Cathedral can be spotted. Right next to the tower is the original refuge Josef Bungarten, named after the forester Bungarten (1895-1974).
