In 1904, Elschbach was connected to the railway network with the opening of the Glan Valley Railway. The corresponding station received a smaller reception building. It was located away from the town on the road to Gries. The settlement Am Bahnhof, which belongs to Elschbach, was subsequently built in the immediate vicinity. Originally it had a loading track, which no longer existed after the Second World War. Due to its peripheral location, Elschbach was given an additional, local stop in the form of Elschbach Ort in the early 1960s, which was intended to revitalize the railway line in the southern section Homburg-Glan-Münchweiler. It was abandoned again in 1976, and two years later the station suffered the same fate. Since freight traffic had already been stopped between Schönenberg-Kübelberg and Glan-Münchweiler, this section of the line was without regular traffic from 1981. The tracks were dismantled at the end of the 1980s. In 2002, the Glan-Blies-Weg was opened on the route, and its full length was completed in 2006. The closest train stations have since been in Glan-Münchweiler and Bruchmühlbach-Miesau.Source: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/ElschbachInformation about the Glantalbahn: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/GlantalbahnGlan-Blies-Radweg website: glan-blies-weg.de
