The chapel on the road between Pfaffenhofen and Unterumbach was built in 1930 by Xaver and Marie Riedlberger (Peterbauern from Pfaffenhofen). The occasion was the happy outcome of an accident in which the horses had bolted. In gratitude for surviving, this chapel was built.

On December 5, 2008, the chapel was severely damaged by a woman driving off the road. Michael Riedlberger, the son of the chapel founder, rebuilt it. In August 2010 it was inaugurated again.

The wooden chapel has large windows that allow a view of the mostly closed interior. The tiled roof also spans an open porch supported by posts. On the roof there is a turret (roof turret) in which a small, disguised wooden bell hangs.

The Calvary scene with the three crosses is reproduced in front of the chapel. It probably dates from the 2nd half of the 19th century. and was already there when the chapel was built (1930).
The crucifixion group is a listed monument. It is listed in the list of monuments in Pfaffenhofen an der Glonn as: "on the road to Unterumbach, Laich field, cast iron crucifixion group, second half of the 19th century.
