The Hochkopfturm on the summit of the 1263m high mountain Hochkopf was built in 1925. The border between Todtmoos and Todtnauer district Präg and thus also between the counties Lörrach and Waldshut runs over the mountain. The Hochkopf limits as east-west running ridge the Präger glacier boiler on its south side. About the Karwänden there sloping mountain ridges are sometimes sharpened burr-like. With its idiosyncratic shape, the covered observation deck at 10 meters high, offers a magnificent view over the surrounding valleys and mountains, u.a. to Feldberg, Herzogenhorn, Schauinsland and Belchen. The tower was very nicely renovated at the end of 2020. It would be a mistake not to climb up and enjoy the truly unique view. The mountain bike tour to the Hochkopf is my favorite tour in the region, see also my video.
