The reason for the mention was, the reconciliation of St. Ulrich, Bishop of Augsburg and the then Bishop of Chur King Otto I. with his son Duke Luidolf of Swabia, in order to then prevent the further advance of the Hungarians with a combined army on the Lechfeld. The three Ps (Pugnamus Pro Pace - "We fight for peace") in the city coat of arms can be related to this event.
